Providing a Helping Hand for Special Needs Children and Families.

Find resources

Becoming a parent is a life-changing experience, and when your child receives a diagnosis of special medical needs, it can bring a mix of emotions and challenges. Below we list resources new parents can use for their child with special needs.

1.Healthcare Providers: Ask your child’s doctors and specialists for recommendations on resources, support groups, and educational materials.

2. Local and National Organizations: Organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, Easterseals, and March of Dimes offer valuable resources and support for families.

3. Online Communities and Forums: Join online support groups and forums where you can connect with other parents facing similar challenges. Websites like Facebook, Reddit, and specialized forums offer various communities.

4. Educational Institutions: Schools and educational institutions often have resources for children with special medical needs. Reach out to school counselors or special education departments.

5. Government Programs: Explore government programs such as Medicaid, Social Security, and Early Intervention Services. These programs often provide financial assistance and support services.

6. Non-Profit Organizations: Many non-profits offer assistance, counseling, and resources tailored for families of children with special needs. We have a list of resources on our website.

7. Books and Literature: There are numerous books written by professionals and parents that offer insights, strategies, and support.

8. Workshops and Conferences: Attend workshops and conferences related to your child’s condition. These events can provide valuable information and networking opportunities.

Why should my child go to Tender Care PPEC?

Tender Care PPEC provides care for medically complex and fragile children from birth to 21 years of age in a daycare-like environment staffed with nurses, CNAs, and therapists. We are the first independently owned PPEC in the State of Florida with our initial center opening in 1988. This means we have an abundance of experience and knowledge in providing loving care to this special pediatric population. We have 6 Tender Care PPEC centers throughout Florida, with our newest facility located in Lake Park.

Lake Park Location

Our goal is to enhance the development of each child through collaborative relationships between families, physicians, nurses, and therapists. This holistic approach to care is carried out in an environment that allows the child to engage in social interactions with their peers. This results in thriving children, well-positioned to achieve their greatest potential. We also offer transportation at no cost and provide nutritious meals throughout the day.

What sets us apart is that we care for and treat every child like family. We have passion in our hearts for our children and a desire to see them succeed.
