Occupational Therapy
At Tender Care PPEC, our pediatric Occupational Therapy team is dedicated to providing specialized evaluation and treatment for children with a broad range of diagnoses, including, but not limited to, orthopedic, neurological, rheumatic, and congenital disorders. In addition to working with children who have physical disabilities or medical conditions, we also support children with challenges related to attention, learning disabilities, and sensory processing difficulties. Our goal is to address the unique needs of each child, helping them navigate the world around them and develop essential skills for daily life.
The role of a pediatric occupational therapist at Tender Care goes beyond simply treating physical impairments; it also involves analyzing and addressing neuromuscular, skeletal, and cognitive limitations that may impact a child’s ability to engage in everyday activities. Whether it’s difficulty with motor coordination, sensory processing, or social interactions, our team works collaboratively with both the child and their family to design a treatment plan that promotes growth and development across multiple domains.
For children with physical or cognitive restrictions, occupational therapy helps to refine motor skills, improve coordination, and promote greater independence. This includes activities that focus on fine motor skills, such as hand-eye coordination, writing, or using utensils, as well as gross motor skills like walking, balance, and posture. In addition, our pediatric occupational therapists work with children to improve their ability to interact socially, communicate effectively, and learn self-care skills—especially for older children transitioning into greater independence.
Children with sensory processing challenges benefit from targeted interventions that help them learn to respond appropriately to sensory input, whether that’s through touch, sound, light, or movement. This can significantly improve their ability to function in various environments, including school, home, and social settings.
At Tender Care Center, we believe in a personalized approach. Our pediatric occupational therapy program is designed to meet the individual needs of each child, providing customized treatment plans that target specific developmental goals. Whether a child needs help with physical movement, sensory integration, or daily self-care tasks, we strive to restore function and maximize independence. By working together with families, we empower children to achieve their highest potential and participate fully in life’s everyday activities.
Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that every child we work with has the tools and support they need to lead a more independent, functional, and fulfilling life, no matter the challenges they face.
