Tender Care was a Guest on Mama Knows Nada!

Providing a Helping Hand for Special Needs Children and Families.

Tender Care’s Director of Marketing, Thomas LoBianco, had the pleasure of being a guest on Mama Knows Nada! They discussed the operational processes of PPECs, how Tender Care supports families, and what makes Tender Care so special.

The podcast begins with Thomas and Brianna discussing what a PPEC is. It is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care facility. For example, Tender Care is a PPEC. We take care of medically fragile children from birth to 21 years of age. Our mission is to be our community’s best resource for improving the quality of life of all children with special needs.

Next, they discuss the services Tender Care offers to support our mission, vision, and families. We offer skilled nursing services, therapy services, transportation, and provide various resources for the family. We have six locations in Florida, with one coming to Texas. We are open Monday through Saturday and will pick up/drop off the child at their home.

They continue by discussing how Tender Care is FREE with Medicaid and how many kids we can have at each facility. They also speak on how Tender Care differs from other PPECs since we are open on weekends and Holidays. Then, they went over a day in the life of a kid at Tender Care.

Lastly, they discussed Thomas’ heartwarming story of gaining permanent guardianship of two twins who came to Tender Care that have now graduated. This is a story you don’t want to miss. Make sure to watch the end of the podcast.

Why should my child go to Tender Care PPEC?

Tender Care PPEC provides care for medically complex and fragile children from birth to 21 years of age in a daycare-like environment staffed with nurses, CNAs, and therapists. We are the first independently owned PPEC in the State of Florida with our initial center opening in 1988. This means we have an abundance of experience and knowledge in providing loving care to this special pediatric population. We have 6 Tender Care PPEC centers throughout Florida, with our newest facility located in Lake Park.

Lake Park Location

Our goal is to enhance the development of each child through collaborative relationships between families, physicians, nurses, and therapists. This holistic approach to care is carried out in an environment that allows the child to engage in social interactions with their peers. This results in thriving children, well-positioned to achieve their greatest potential. We also offer transportation at no cost and provide nutritious meals throughout the day.

What sets us apart is that we care for and treat every child like family. We have passion in our hearts for our children and a desire to see them succeed.
