Take me out to The Miracle League of Palm Beach County Ball Game!

Providing a Helping Hand for Special Needs Children and Families.

The Miracle League of Palm Beach County

Tender Care had the pleasure of watching The Miracle League of Palm Beach County (MLPBC) baseball game which is open to all special needs children.

The Miracle League of Palm Beach County Ball Game

The MLPBC is a non-profit that was co-founded in 2005 by Delray residents, Jeff and Julia Kadel. One night they were watching a TV broadcast featuring The Miracle League, a baseball league open to all kids regardless of mental and physical disabilities. This influenced the Kadels to use their own experience and talents to bring the special baseball league to the children and families of their community.

After the success of the first season, the Kadel’s decided that the league needed to grow to serve all disabled children who wished to participate. With the help of the Palm Beach County Commission, community leaders, and donors, their plan came to fruition.

The Miracle League of Palm Beach County

For over ten years, the Miricle League Association has made it possible for every child in the country with physical and mental disabilities to achieve the same dream as their peers – to play ball.

The field is equipped with cushioned synthetic turf to help prevent injuries, wheelchair-accessible dugouts, and a flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players.

The rules of this league are simple:

  • Every player bats once each inning
  • All base runners are safe
  • Every player scores a run before the inning is over
  • Each team and player wins every game
  • Community kids and volunteers are “buddies” to assist the players

The MLPBC is an incredible organization, the impact they have on these families and their children is truly inspiring. Their slogan “Every Child Deserves to Play Baseball” really speaks to what they stand for and what they are doing in their community.

Tender Care is passionate about making a difference in the communities we serve. We are so moved by the work the MLPBC is doing in their community, that we decided to donate enough money for the kids to play at no cost for the next two seasons. With that, let’s play some ball!
